Trying to figure out how to get everything accomplished on the homestead can be tricky, especially when there are so many moving parts. I'm excited to bring you a workshop designed to help you plan a successful and sustainable year on your homestead. This session will guide you through some key topics for each season like garden planning, animal care, and general homestead maintenance.

We will discuss:

  1. Seasonal Garden Planning:

    • Understand the best times to plant, grow, and harvest a variety of crops, from spring greens to fall root vegetables.

    • Learn tips for starting seeds indoors, planting in succession, and planning for cold-hardy crops in the winter.

    • Discover the best timing for companion planting and crop rotation to maximize yield and promote soil health.

    • Plan for storage of root crops and other produce to ensure you have food through the winter months.

  2. Year-Round Animal Care:

    • Learn about seasonal care for chickens, goats, rabbits, and other common homestead animals, including feeding, shelter, and health care.

    • Plan when to prepare animals and their shelters for winter, as well as considerations for breeding cycles and birthing seasons.

    • Discover ways to manage animal bi-products and integrate them animals into your homestead routine.

  3. Homestead Maintenance and Sustainability:

    • Get practical advice on building a year-round maintenance schedule, including fencing, tool maintenance, and repair work.

    • Learn techniques for making the most out of available resources during each season.

    • Understand how to address seasonal weather considerations to keep your homestead running smoothly.

Rather than specifically focusing on the "how to's" of these topics, we will focus on the organizational aspects of the topics above. Templates will be provided for you to make the most of your time and stay organized all year long. If you are interested in zooming in on these topics, consider one of the garden or animal specific workshops. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced homesteader, this workshop will equip you with the tools and knowledge to map out a productive and fulfilling year.

Registration closes 48 hours prior to class start. A zoom link will be e-mailed 24 hours before the class start.

Cancellation Policy: Please note our workshops are non refundable. However, if you cannot attend the live version of the workshop, the recording will be e-mailed to all registered participants the following day.
